    Are the kittens raised indoors?
Yes, all our kittens are allowed to grow and play in our living space. This gives them opportunity to get used to all the usual household noises and goings on! We do have cat runs but these are kept for our adult cats only so they can appreciate the sun!
Why do they have to be thirteen weeks old?
Kittens have two sets of vaccinations, the first set at 9 weeks and second set at 12 weeks. We then give them 7 days at home with us to check there is no reaction to the vaccination. Kittens need time with their mother to develop vital life skills and during the 3rd – 12th week of a kittens life, human companionship can be indelibly imprinted on their developing personalities. They stay with us to get the best possible start in life.
    What vaccinations do they receive?
The kittens are vaccinated against Flu Enteritis, Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Calicivirus. We are currently looking into getting them vaccinated against Chlamydiodis.
    Are the kittens house trained?
Yes, when kittens reach weaning age the mother will lead by example in using the litter tray!
    Can kittens go outside?
We have no hard and fast rule on this but we do ask new owners to be sensible. If they live in a town, city or near a moderately busy road then it would be sensible to keep the kitten indoors. Also we are increasingly aware of unscrupulous people who steal pedigree animals to order or abuse them in a terrible way. The kitten shouldn’t go out until he had received his leukaemia vaccination and is neutered.
Can we come back to you for help & advice after we re-home a kitten?
Absolutely Yes!! All our paper work has our name, address and phone number so we can be contacted at any time. We may be a bit busy at times caring for our cats but we will call you back or respond to your email.
What cat litter do you use?
We both use Tesco’s lightweight litter, the kittens are used to using both covered and open litter trays.
    What do the kittens eat?
Our kittens will finish the contents of your dinner plate if you will let them! But primarily we use Arden Grange Kitten food (biscuits) and Whiskas Kitten (Tinned).
How do I introduce my kitten to my other pets?
We have two advice sheets for introducing DOGS and other CATS. Please click the links.
What do I need to bring when I collect my new kitten?
A large bag to put your kitten packs in! And a sturdy cat carrier with a lock on the door. We don’t allow kittens to leave in a cardboard box or similar!
What can I expect to receive when I collect my kitten?
Transfer slip - what is this? When we register our kittens with the GCCF they send us back a pink transfer of ownership slip. When you collect your kitten we give you this slip to transfer the kitten into your name. The GCCF charge £9 to do this.

Contract of Care - What is this? We ask you to sign two copies of this contract, one for your records and one for ours. To see a copy of this contact please click here.

Neutering certificate – What is this? We do not wish to add to the already heavy burden placed upon cat rescue centres. To that end we insist that all our kittens are neutered and the certificate in proof of this. Please click here to view.

Code of Ethics – What is this? The ‘Code of Ethics’ is produced by the GCCF. It is requirements for breeders and new owners. Please click here to view.

Kitten pack – What’s in the pack? In the kitten pack there is a diet sheet, kitten guide with settling in tips. Receipt for your kitten. We also provide a sample of the litter the kitten is use to as well as their food. The kittens come with 6 weeks free pet insurance.

    Are Siamese expensive to keep?
Pedigree cats can be more susceptible to illnesses than moggies so you should make sure that you either take out insurance or can afford the vet bills. Vaccinations need to be kept up yearly and these normally cost £40 +

Do I have to pay a deposit?
When both parties are in agreement and you have chosen a kitten you’re happy with we normally ask for a deposit. This secures the kitten in your name. We expect by this time you will have given your decision a lot of thought and so we normally say that the deposit is non-refundable.
    How much are Siamese kittens?
You should expect to pay between £300 - £400 for a Siamese kitten; we charge £350 as we feel it is a realistic reflection of the costs involved.
Why can’t I breed from my kitten?
All our kittens are registered on the Non-Active Register, which means that none of the progeny can be registered with the GCCF, to legally breed from a cat it must be registered on the Active Register. Breeding cats is much harder and takes more commitment than most people anticipate, unfortunately some owners use their cats like a "kitten farm". The cat rescue centres do a fine job without having the added burden of litters of kittens that are unwanted. If you seriously want to breed please do your homework and talk to experienced breeders, you should be willing to be tutored by an experienced breeder.
Can I adopt a kitten for a surprise present?
We don’t sell kitten for presents unless we can meet the person who will be the owner.
